Dabang Delhi beat Patna Pirates by 43-39 

Dabang Delhi produced a sensational comeback to win their match against Patna Pirates by 43-39, played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on Thursday. With this win, Dabang Delhi have qualified for the playoffs along with Bengal Warriors. 

The defence of both sides started on a cautious note in the early stages of the match. Pradeep Narwal and Naveen Kumar played key roles to help their respective sides. Delhi second raider Chandran Ranjit took important points in defence.

Pardeep Narwal was away from the match for 8 minutes and 25 seconds, but Hadi Oshtak kept Patna Pirates in the game. The first half ended with the scores at 13-13. There were no all-outs. 

It was a great start for Dabang Delhi  in the second half as they earned a Super tackle by catching Patna star raider Pardeep Narwal. In the fourth minute of the second half, Vikas Jaglan tackled Naveen Kumar to take a 19-17 lead. 

Narwal took another Super 10 in the tournament and a three-point Super raid in the 8th minute of the second half as Patna Pirates pushed for their 2nd all-out. 

With six minutes left in the match, Patna Pirates got their 2nd all-out to give them a six point lead. Pardeep Narwal became the first raider in PKL history to score 1100 points.

Vijay changed the fortune of the match in favour of Delhi by getting Vikas Jaglan, Neeraj Kumar, Hadi Oshtorak and Monu. He also earned a bonus point plus 4 points which gave Dabang Delhi 36-35 lead, and they went on to win the match by a scoreline of 43-39. 

Delhi earned an all-out with 2 minutes to go and the defenders maintained the lead. It was an amazing performance by Dabang Delhi who were trailing throughout, but Vijay’s one raid changed the fortune. 

It was a very close fought match as Dabang Delhi earned 31 raid points compared to 27 of Patna Pirates. Both earned 1 Super raid each. Patna Pirates got 2 all-outs as compared to 1 of Delhi. 

Vijay was the best raider for Dabang Delhi with 13 points including 7 raids, 1 tackle and 5 bonus points. Pardeep Narwal was outstanding for Patna Pirates with 18 raid points and 1 bonus point. 

U Mumba will take on Bangalore Bulls in the first match tomorrow while in a do or die match Jaipur Pink Panthers will take on Telugu Titans.
