The Everton hierarchy has reportedly got in touch with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola to negotiate a potential deal to land the Swedish striker at Goodison Park.

Ibrahimovic has kept everyone guessing since his departure from LA Galaxy, where he spent a couple of seasons and looked a class apart scoring goals for fun. The 38-year old is currently in Europe and he has also been linked with the Italian club AC Milan.

Milan is struggling in Serie A at the moment and there was a feeling that Ibrahimovic would be able to lift the spirits of the side with the persona and aura that he carries with himself. The veteran has played for Milan in the past as well and is very popular among the fans.

However, with Everton getting in touch with Raiola now, the equation might change because the Toffees are likely to put a lucrative deal on the table.

Raiola’s relationship with the Everton hierarchy is really good as the two parties have struck quite a few deals in the past including the one involving Romelu Lukaku.

Whether it’s Everton or Milan, none of them will offer Ibrahimovic a long-term contract at this stage of his career. Even if he signs for Everton, the deal will be for the rest of the season only with the scope of an extension depending on the performance.

With the way Ibrahimovic performed in MSL, it was clear that he was too good for the competition there. He still seems to have got the skills to do a job for the big clubs in Europe.

There are rumors that Carlo Ancelotti might be roped in as the new manager at Everton and if that happens, it will tilt Ibrahimovic more towards the Everton deal. The Swede has worked with Ancelotti at PSG and the duo enjoyed a great relationship there.
