During his tenure in Barcelona, Lionel Messi earned a whopping £500,000 ($610k/€565k) a week. Before signing this deal, Messi was estimated to be on around £336,000 ($410k/€397k) a week.

After departing Barcelona, Messi agreed to a deal with PSG where he will earn between €30 million-35 million which can go up to (£25m-30m/$35m-$41m) per season during his time at the Ligue 1 side, while there will also be a team and individual bonuses.

Messi topped the Forbes list in 2019, becoming the richest athlete with total earnings of $127 million surpassing Floyd Mayweather, the boxing icon. However, in 2020 Roger Federer usurp Messi while Ronaldo came second that year.

He only donates to trustable charities, and ventures. Having worked with Unicef in 2004, Lionel Messi was appointed an ambassador of Unicef in 2010, since then he is working with the charity and has helped many children during their difficult times.
