Another match ended on a sour note for Manchester United as they were hammered with 2 goals by the Premier League reigning champions Manchester City in a Manchester Derby.

An own goal from Eric Baily and a Bernardo Silva finish just before the half time whistle was enough to eke out three points at Old Trafford. 

The 20-times Premier League winner displayed another dull performance and were outplayed from every angle by Man City. 

However, David de Gea was in sublime form between the sticks and made a string of brilliant saves to thwart City from scoring 3-4 goals. 

Manchester United players played as they had no motive in the game and were frequently made do the hard work. As a result, City dominated the entire match and got the well deserved win. 

Manchester United's only effort was a volley from the subdued Cristiano Ronaldo, and the players hardly put any effort into the contest. So now let's see how the player ratings for the Manchester Derby.

Manchester United player ratings 

David De Gea: The Spanish keeper was the reason who kept Man United in the match and pulled out a few exceptional saves in the first half. 

However, his misjudgment of the cross from Cancelo which led to Bernardo Silva scoring at the far post proved a costly error for Ole's men. 

Due to Manchester United's weak defence, he was frequently tested by City's players but displayed a top-notch performance. Hence our player ratings for De Gea for the Manchester Derby is a 6/10 

Eric Baily: Very poor play and wrong positioning, scored an own goal and was called off at half-time. Rating 3/10  

Victor Lindelof: Looked dull in the entire match and was slow to react to the danger. Rating 5/10 

Harry MaguireAs usual, another embarrassing performance, but he registered a few clearances but couldn't dovetail with his defensive partners. Sportco's player ratings for the England international for the Manchester Derby is a  5/10 

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Very slow in the match and kept Foden free most of the time, letting players invade the box and couldn't do the basics right. Rating 3/10

Scott Mctominay: Couldn't show his defensive prowess and was overrun and dominated in by the City's defenders. Rating 5/10 

Fred: Was great at pressing and managed to break Man City's play but couldn't get a grip in midfield. Rating 6/10 

Bruno FernandesBruno was left frustrated and failed to show creativity, had no hold of the game and zero brilliant chances, was outmuscled by Rodri and De Bruyne. Rating 5/10 

Luke Shaw: Lack of focus and was kept silent by Walker and couldn't cope with his pace, should have prevented the Bernado's goal.  Rating 4/10

Cristiano RonaldoVery tedious and failed to make any impact going forward; the only highlight of his game was his shot which was saved by Ederson. Sportco's player ratings for Ronaldo for the Manchester Derby is a 5/10

Mason Greenwood: Just like Ronaldo, he couldn't produced any great chances and was shut down by Man City's defenders; he was ineffective up-front. Rating 5/10

Substitutes: Jaden Sancho, 5/10, Marcus Rashford, 5/10, Van de Beek, 6/10, Alex Telles 4/10

Ederson: The only highlight of his game was Ronaldo's save, and he wasn't made to do any hard work. Rating 6/10

Kyle Walker: Excellent runs down the flank and very tenacious. His energy was unmatchable, and he made five ball recoveries. Rating 7/10 

John Stones: Kept the defence alert and didn't have much to do but kept switching the play with Cancelo in particular. Rating 7/10

Ruben Dias: Solid at the back, frequently breaking Man United counter-attack. Rating 7.5/10 

Joao Cancelo (Man of the Match): Great runs and made some dangerous crosses in Man United's box great linking-up with the midfielders, always progressive and was the reason for Manchester City's opener and the second as well with an immaculate delivery.

Kevin De BruyneAlways impactful on the big occasion, constantly threatened Manchester United with his through balls and created spaces to nullify the pressure. Rating 7/10 

Rodri: Great defensive ability and excellent reading of the game. Kept applying the pressure on the Red Devils with his high pressing. Rating 6/10

Ilkay Gundogan: satisfactory match for the German, but should know when to release the ball and when to hold it, overall decent performance. Sportco's player ratings for Gundogan for yesterday's Manchester Derby is 7/10 

Phil FodenImmaculate touches and very neat with the ball, almost scored the third goal for the men in sky-blue. Hence, Sportco rates Foden's performance a 7/10 

Bernardo Silva: He was very confident on the ball, great dribbling with a fine awareness of the game, exceptional with his playmaking, and got his reward by scoring a great goal. Our Player Ratings for B.Silva for the Manchester Derby is 8/10  

Gabriel Jesus: Good pressing, up-front and constantly kept Shaw in Man United's half-line. Exhibited three key passes. Could have scored a goal but was denied by David De Gea. Rating 7/10
