Arsenal sign 26 year old Spanish defensive ace on loan

Arsenal have signed the 26-year-old Pablo Mari on loan from Flamengo. Mari told that joining the North London club is a massive opportunity for him and that he’ll work hard to make the most of it between now and the end of the season.

He also revealed that initial talks about a move to North London began a couple of weeks ago after he caught the eye with the Brazilian champions.

He said, "Arsenal told us that they were interested. We’d just won everything with Flamengo. I won the league and the Copa Libertadores and was also named best center-back in America, so that will have helped Arsenal notice me.”

One interesting fact about the player is that he has been a part of an English club before. Mari joined Man City from Gimnastic in 2006. He never played a game though and spent out time on loan with the likes of NAC Breda and Deportivo la Coruna.

This move will now be a second chance for the player to prove his worth and it’s the opportunity Mari is keen to take. “It’s a massive opportunity for me to come to England, which is the best league in the world right now. I’m a very professional player. I like working hard every day to achieve objectives.”

He added, “One thing I can control is working hard on  a daily basis to help my team-mates to win football matches and repay the faith that Mikel and Arsenal have shown me by signing me to play here, so that’s the main objective.”

Arsenal have improved massively under their new manager and the players look to be more passionate about the club. Arteta has succeeded to instill the feeling of commitment and rage in every Arsenal player and the players are noticed to be stepping up for the team.

The players are giving everything they can and Arteta has already developed a strong connection with the players. His equation with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka has helped them to stay put at the club when it seemed it’s the end of their careers for the Gunners.
