RB Leipzig main man warns star forward about difficulties at Liverpool

Amid reports that Liverpool are leading the race to sign striker Timo Werner in the summer, RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has warned his player about signing for the Reds. The 23-year-old has gathered a lot of interest, with his goalscoring abilities catching attention from Europe’s top clubs.

Timo Werner has scored 20 goals in just 22 games in Germany’s top tier in the 2019/20 season and has become one of the most exciting attackers in the world.

Speaking to Sport Bild Nagelsmann said, “It would be more difficult for Werner to play at Liverpool than at Leipzig. He will not get the status he has here in the first few years and I tell him that too."

"The boys are seeing how we are developing and how much potential we have. We don’t leave anyone, who helps us, defenseless.”

However, it is said that all this will not be enough to stop Werner from leaving Germany. Moving to Anfield will make room for the striker to play alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Virgil Van Dijk and many more talented and young players.

Playing at Anfield with the crowd cheering your name is surely one of the exciting things Werner will be waiting for.

Liverpool with this possible signing will be scarier with what they are at the moment. The transfer will offer Werner some competition too, with the Reds’ existing number nine Roberto Firmino.

This would likely be a blessing for his career as it would unlock new levels for him as the striker will have to struggle hard to keep his name on the sheet and all this will further help him fulfill his potential and reach new levels.

However, the transfer window is yet to open and the season is yet to end. If Leipzig break Bayern’s dominance in the Bundesliga, there is a possibility that Werner might stay just like Jamie Vardy, who stayed with Leicester despite so many offers from top tier clubs.
