The story first broke through by Le Point and has since been backed up by Europe 1 and local outlet La Depeche du Midi. Christopher was then immediately transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Tottenham’s official website also sent heartfelt condolences to Aurier and his family.

Police were also reported to have arrived quickly after the scene but the perpetrator of the shooting managed to flee. They are now interrogating every witness to try and ascertain what happened.

Just like Serge, Christopher was also a footballer, He was never able to have his breakthrough season and after failing to earn a contract with Brentford. He later had a trial with Manchester-based side Stalybridge Celtic.

As per recent suggestions, he was also being looked at by a French side Toulouse Rodeo, who currently are in the fifth tier of French football. The tragedy was reported just two hours after Serge completed the entire 90 minutes with Spurs in the North London derby. Son Heung-Min and Toby Alderweireld canceled Alexandre Lacazette’s stunning opener to ensure three points for Spurs.

With the victory, Jose Mourinho’s side are now above Arsenal in the Premier League in the eighth place and have a good chance of making it to the Europa League. However, Serge Aurier is currently going through a very difficult time and will be cutting his derby celebration short after the tragic incident.
