US Open 2022 Predictions: Who is the best amongst the other contenders?

While the eyes will be on the top two, it won't be a surprise if the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Carlos Alcaraz, or Casper Ruud go all the way to and assert their dominance. Alcaraz has won two ATP Masters 1000 titles, while Ruud was the runner-up in the French Open.

Tsitsipas was the runner-up in the 2021 French Open and has the experience of playing in the final of a Grand Slam. This season he has reached two ATP Masters 1000 finals, winning the Monte Carlo Open while losing the final of the Cincinnati Open.

Will Rafael Nadal continue ‘Big Three’ dominance?

In the last 69 Grand Slam tournaments, the trio of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer has won 59 of the 69 titles which shows the dominance of the ‘Big Three’.

Like the Australian Open earlier in the year, Rafael Nadal will be an alone representative from the ‘Big Three’, but will be the favourite to clinch the US Open.

While Djokovic will be missing because of these vaccination issues, Federer is out with fitness issues. If Nadal does succeed in winning, it will be his fifth US Open title.

With the big boys well in their twilight, it remains to be seen who takes the baton forward and adds a Grand Slam success to his tally. With fresh blood on offer, it won’t be a surprise if the likes of Medvedev and Alcaraz walk away with the title.
