Washington Kastles vs Vegas Rollers: World TeamTennis Preview and Prediction

Five-time champions, Washington Kastles take on Vegas Rollers in a scintillating showdown tonight.

The Kastles were thrashed by Philadelphia Freedoms yesterday. They began their season well with two convincing wins, but three straight losses have thrown their campaign in disarray.

On the other hand, the Vegas Rollers are placed in a slightly better position with three wins and an equal number of losses. The Rollers are also coming to this match with a defeat against the San Diego Aviators.

The Kastles would have to find a quick solution to their woeful performance in women's doubles. Despite their immense experience, Venus Williams and Arina Rodionova have lost their last two matches. The team should be tempted to try out Bernarda Pera and reserve Williams for the singles instead. They have the edge against the all American pair, Hayley Baptiste/ Kristie Ahn who are also not in great form.

The Rollers would expect to smoothly pocket the men's doubles as the Bryan brothers will not expect a serious challenge from Nicholas Monroe and Marcelo Arevalo.

With Pera having mixed fortunes from her last two singles matches, she will have her task cut out against Ahn. The Rollers can afford to experiment by fielding Asia Muhammad instead.

The pressure would be high on Tommy Paul in the men's singles as he faces the mercurial Sam Querrey. Having lost his last two encounters, he would look to turn the table against an in-form Querrey.

The Kastles can claim to have an upper hand in the mixed doubles as Arevalo has combined well with both Williams and Pera by winning his last two matches.

Mike Bryan would look to get things right as he has lost two times partnering Monica Puig and Ahn respectively. The Rollers can go with his twin, Bob instead.

The Kastles would look to give it their best shot, as a defeat today, could push them at the bottom of the table.

Prediction -  Vegas Rollers to win
