Brazil defends FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup title

Brazil extended its dominance in beach soccer by securing a record-breaking seventh FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup title, defeating Belarus 4-3 in a dramatic final at the 2025 edition of the tournament held in Victoria, Seychelles.

The victory marks Brazil’s second consecutive title and reinforces its legacy as the most successful nation in the sport’s history.

The Brazilian goals came from Rodrigo (twice), who was named Player of the Match, along with Lucão and Catarino. Belarus, playing in its first-ever World Cup final, put up a valiant fight, with tournament top scorer Ihar Bryshtsel netting twice and Yauheni Novikau adding another.

Brazil set a new defensive benchmark, conceding just eight goals throughout the tournament, the fewest ever by a champion—breaking France’s previous record of 11 goals conceded during their 2005 title run.

“I’m really happy, really emotional. I’ve dreamed of this since I was a kid. It was a tough game but as soon as they made it 3-3, I was absolutely certain we’d win. Rodrigo is exceptional. He’s the best player in the world, Thanger, Brazil player said.

“We wanted to beat Brazil, but we are very happy and proud to have finished second at the World Cup. It’s historic. In team sports in Belarus, it’s unique,” Belarus’ Ihar Bryshtsel said.
