Sensational Brazil lift Beach Soccer World Cup for seventh time
The Brazilian Beach Soccer team secured a historic seventh World Cup crown on Sunday, edging Belarus 4-3 in a thrilling final at the Paradise Arena in Victoria, Seychelles. With this triumph, Brazil has now won more than half of the 13 tournaments held to date, reinforcing their dominance in the sport.
Defending the title they claimed in 2024, Brazil showcased their trademark flair and resilience in a gripping contest. Rodrigo starred with a brace, while Lucão and Catarino added a goal each. Brazil held a 3-1 lead before Belarus mounted a spirited comeback, with Ihar Bryshtel scoring twice to draw the game level. But with just two minutes remaining, Rodrigo struck the decisive blow to seal the win.

The road to the final was largely smooth for the South American giants. They topped their group with victories over El Salvador (3-1), Italy (2-1), and a commanding 11-1 rout of Oman. In the knockout stages, they swept aside Spain 6-0 in the quarter-finals before dispatching Portugal 4-2 in the semi-finals.
Brazil are now unbeaten in their last 12 World Cup matches, with their last defeat coming at the hands of Senegal in 2021. Their latest triumph not only extends their legacy but also cements their status as the undisputed powerhouse of international beach soccer.
“The entire team deserves credit for their commitment, dedication and humility in respecting all their opponents. Today, Brazil has won another star and everyone deserves congratulations,” said player Mauricinho.
“This title is not just for the players, it is for all the Brazilian people who are there supporting us. Many people think that we only come for the World Cup, but we don’t. We work all year long, we are professionals, and we always try to give our best on the field (…) Brazil, seven-time champion!”
Portugal secured the bronze medal at the Beach Soccer World Cup with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over African champions Senegal in the third-place playoff. Meanwhile, hosts Seychelles saw their tournament campaign come to an early end, exiting in the group stage after failing to register a single win.
