Guatemala bows out at FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025
The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025 continued on Monday at The Paradise Arena in Victoria, where Guatemala concluded its debut tournament with a 12-3 defeat to Belarus in Group A action.

Despite the heavy loss, Los Chapines finished third in the group with a record of one win and two losses. All three of Guatemala’s goals came in the final period, with Pablo Crocker scoring in the 10th minute, Erick Montepeque in the 9th, and Berny Marroquin in the 7th. Crocker and Montepeque each netted their first career goals at the tournament, while Marroquin added his second after scoring Guatemala’s historic debut goal in the opening match.
Miguel González emerged as Guatemala’s top scorer, finishing with five goals—four of which came in a standout performance during the team’s previous match. His efforts put him atop Guatemala’s all-time scoring chart in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup play.
Group A winners Belarus maintained their perfect record with a dominant display, scoring early and often. Aleh Hapon opened the scoring in the 7th minute of the first period, followed by Anatoliy Ryabko in the final minute of the same period. The second period saw goals from Ihar Bryshtsel (11'), Ryabko (7'), Uladzimir Ustsinovich (5'), Vadzim Bokach (3'), and another from Bryshtsel in the final minute.
Belarus responded decisively after Guatemala’s three-goal surge in the third period, as Bryshtsel completed his hat trick in the 6th minute, with Ryabko adding two more in the 5th and 4th minutes, respectively.
Elsewhere in the tournament, fellow Concacaf nation El Salvador will conclude its Group D campaign against Italy on Tuesday, aiming for a result that could secure a place in the knockout rounds.
