Arsenal vs Liverpool: Premier League 2020-21 Prediction | Preview | H2H History | Team News

The Premier League is ready to resume in style after a two-week break as Liverpool visit the Emirates Stadium to face a resurgent Arsenal side in another high-profile action lined up, a few hours after Leicester City host Manchester City.

The sides have two places separating them in the League table, while it's just four points in other terms. Liverpool are currently seventh in the Premier League, somewhere they wouldn't have imagined until October 2020, while Arsenal are ninth.

The hosts have been through various ups and downs this season but their January business has been a huge boost to their morale.

Martin Odegaard has been influential in more than one way for the Gunners, especially after a 3-3 draw against David Moyes' West Ham United.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool also went into the break with a win, but it was a tight one as they beat Wolves 1-0.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: Head to Head

The head-to-head record between these iconic sides had turned one-sided but Mikel Arteta has managed to get something back for the Gunners.

Out of their last 25 meetings, Liverpool have won eight, while the Gunners have triumphed in six, with 11 games drawn. However, when we take into account their last six confrontations, Arsenal come on top with three wins and two losses.

The victories include a Community Shield Final, and an EFL Cup win, while Liverpool's win includes a cup win from the same competition from last season.

Arsenal vs Liverpool Recent Form

Arsenal haven't managed a clean sheet since a goalless stalemate against Manchester United just after the new year.

Arsenal are currently nine points off the Champions League spot and are six points off Tottenham who are sixth. However, they have been unbeaten in their last four league games, with wins against Leicester City and Spurs.

A win against Liverpool on Saturday will see Arsenal winning back-to-back games at Emirates against the Red for the first time since 2015 in the English Premier League.

In their last six games in all competitions, Arsenal have three wins, two draws, and a loss.

Liverpool Recent Form

For the Reds, a win at Molineux was a breath of fresh air as Diogo Jota fired against his former team.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool may not have the Premier League title's grasp but they were more than promising in their Champions League clash against RB Leipzig. As per the draws, they will now be playing the 2017-18 Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Liverpool's form in all competitions hasn't been the best though. They have won thrice, but have lost the same numbers of games too.

Arsenal youngsters have had a huge impact on the side, and unfortunately, both their top performers Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are major doubts for the big premier league clash.

For Liverpool, Roberto Firmino is expected to return in the starting XI, considering his stunning record against the Gunners. Fabinho will be back in midfield. Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip, and Jordan Henderson are all out of contention.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Leno; Bellerin, Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Pepe, Odegaard, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: Premier League Prediction

The game is extremely important for both sides as a win here could help both the teams close the gap on the top four spots.

As things stand, both the teams look evenly matched and the team that adjusts better in the first half would be more likely to take all three points.

A defensive approach is also likely to be adopted by Arteta but it could turn out to be a risky affair considering Liverpool's pace on the counter.

Sportco predicts a draw between Arsenal and Liverpool in this high octane premier league encounter.
